Rip Farris and James Cole, principles in Tuscan Development, and Frank Martin of Landcraft Properties sensed they had a very special location. They selected this site because of its unique slope and adjacency to Ballantyne Country Club. The developers commissioned Alex Krieger, one of the world's finest urban planners, to lead the design team for Scots Hill. Krieger, chairman of the Harvard University Urban Planning Department and a partner in Chan Krieger & Associates, envisioned a property where neighborliness was paramount. To that end, he called for porches, balconies and inviting streetscapes with sidewalks, street lamps and uplit trees. Krieger worked in conjunction with the developers, local architect Brian A. Wilson, AIA, of The Wilson Group and landscape planners ColeJenest & Stone on the master plan. We think you'll agree that the result is most satisfactory. When you visit Scots Hill, walk to the Ballantyne Crossing Avenue side and stand on the promontory overlooking the 18th fairway, club and gorgeous homes of Ballantyne.
