Renaissance! The Garden District Plan | Convenience By Day, Excitement By Night

Tivoli is adding brick enhancements to building exteriors.

"We're going a little more traditional," said Rip Farris, one of the partners in Tuscan Development. "We've decided to use brick detailing to articulate the base of the buildings with soldier courses (an architectural term meaning vertical rows of brick). And we're adding all-brick archways. "The effect is that all the buildings gain more character and more enunciation by having distinctive bases, middles and tops."

With such completed developments as Hawthorne Court in Elizabeth and Cedar Mill in Third Ward, and three new developments under way, Rip and James are building a reputation for matching projects to the neighborhoods they build in, creating added value for buyers.

Take note: the new brick details at Tivoli will not bring increased prices.
