Tivoli is one of three new home collections in the Garden District within a loud whistle of the Charlotte Trolley's future stops. The District is part of First Ward, exploding with new energy.

Only blocks away from Charlotte's businesses, nightclubs and galleries, the northeast corner of First Ward is transforming. Builders are changing street grids and crafting a grand boulevard called Garden District Drive.

First Ward, rich in history, was once home to people black and white. North of Trade Street and east of Tryon, First Ward was named in 1870 when politicians divided Charlotte, a town of 4,500, into manageable parts. Prosperity reigned until the 1930's. Wave after wave of change ensued - from public housing to vacant land - and now, thanks to a stunning metamorphosis planned by Bank of America and the Charlotte Housing Authority, First Ward is the hot new place to live.

Tivoli, designed with a bow to Italian urban architecture, will stand on a hill facing uptown. Window boxes, iron balcony railings, rooflines and accents will please the eye.

All-brick buildings will front Tivoli's surrounding streets. Individual homes will open on to breezeways designed for warmth and invitation. Parking will be on street level.

95 homes designed for splashes of sunlight.
